Accessibility

Kairos aims to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA across the site, with Level AAA contrast on the Resources page crisis strip. Accessibility is not a feature we finished — it is a discipline we hold to on every page.
What we hold to
- All phone numbers use
tel:links; SMS instructions usesms:links. - Every link is descriptive of its destination — never “click here.”
- Images carry meaningful alt text or are marked decorative.
- Color contrast meets AA minimums on all body text.
- Keyboard navigation reaches every interactive element without traps.
- Layout holds to 200% font-size zoom without breaking.
- Screen-reader landmarks are labeled on every page.
- Modal dialogs (contact form, cookie consent) are fully keyboard-accessible.
Where we are still improving
This is a live commitment, not a finished audit. If you encounter a barrier — a link that doesn’t announce itself properly, a form that traps focus, an image without alt text, a color pair that reads poorly at your zoom level — please tell us. We treat accessibility reports as bugs, not feedback.
Testing tools we use
- axe DevTools for automated WCAG scans
- Manual keyboard testing on every page before publish
- VoiceOver (macOS/iOS) and NVDA (Windows) screen-reader testing on critical flows: crisis strip, Resources, Conversations, checkout
